Day Skipper
Boat handling under either wind or power, inshore navigation and pilotage
In order to complete the day skipper practical it is assumed that you are experience to competent crew standard and have a comprehensive knowledge of the day skipper shorebased syllabus. This course includes:
- sailing under power & wind
- tides & tidal streams, navigation and chartwork (planning passages)
- pilotage into and out of the harbour
- use of emergency equipment
- emergency situations and man over board recovery
- anchoring, mooring, including alongside berthing and deck work
